Help Desk Support Technician

Help with a Smile is seeking a help desk support technician to join our team on a part-time basis, starting immediately. This is an entry-level position suitable for a technician with some prior experience working in an IT support environment, and carries the potential for future full time employment with our company.

Responsibilities

  • Work one-on-one with our clients to help them make smart technology decisions and resolve their wide variety of PC and Mac problems.
  • Man the "front-lines" of our help desk and effectively triage, resolve, and escalate incidents in a timely manner.
  • Assist senior technicians in network design, server installs and upgrades, migrations and other large scale client projects.
  • Contribute to building a positive work environment and an excellent customer service experience for our clients.

The Requirements

  • Outstanding customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting methodology.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage a request queue in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting a variety of issues on both Windows and Mac workstations.
  • An understanding of core networking concepts such as IPv4, DNS, DHCP, Firewalls, Wifi, VPN.
  • A schedule that permits working at least 2 full business days (9-5 Mon-Fri) each week in our Manhattan office.
